elloz...
today i had an interesting day at YFC. yahz... my life now technically revolves around YFC and building my CSA.
CSA is a new term for my blog. its a little project i intend to embark on and invest in. basically it stands for ChopStick Aircraft... haha.... it sounds kinda funny and well it is funny... lol... it will serve as an introductory lesson into the world of aviation from the ground... and cause i'm on a tight budget i will be using simple materials to build my CSA. yeahx.... hopefully can get myself a working testable unit by jan... then i can conduct some flight tests... then my long term goal is to eventually build test models liike how lockheed martin does.....
so my journey begins as i proceed to YFC... taking 103W which goes straight into YFC... i come across 2 very interesting Aeromodelling YFC students... basically YFC members in secondary school... i just ignore them as continue doing my checks... then suddenly they started talking at the back of the bus... and soon enough they were shouting in excitement and talking so god damm loud i nearly went to them to ask them to shut up.... too much manz...
upon arriving at yfc... went to makan my lunch... lol.... first time in a long time i went to the canteen to buy food!!! haha.... cause we used to have this caterer called Bibik and though it wasn't fantastic food.... basically nasi lemak and various assorted COOKED and WARM dishes... i really liked to order food thenz.... didn't mind coming to yfc for just the food... haha... now.... instant noodles, buns.... (god i hate buns... especially those wholemeal breads) and now 3 chinese dishes.... not bad... i bought a plate of hor fan at $2.50 at an airport... haha.... cheap! and it was nice! though i couldn't help slurping since i was kinda like hurrying for my flight!! lol...
my sortie profile today was what one calls Short Field. the profile speaking for itself, requires me to be able to take off at 45knots (normal being 55knots) which would require about 1400ft.... and land at 55-60knots (normal being 65-70knots) in about 600ft... more importantly the approach for landing is dangerously near the stalling speed... basically the situation where you know when you're 200feet above ground and u stall... you're dead...
coming in on my approach, i'm at maximum flaps and about 57knots jumping here and there cause of my not so perfect flying... :P but within limits lahz... lol... then as i go nearer i began to feel choppy winds pushing me up and down.... before u know it, i'm at about 100 feet and maybe.... 150feet from the runway and i get a sudden updraft (wind that pushes the whole aircraft upwards) and my speed drops below 55.... and BEYOND!! i got a shock and less than a quarter of a second i hear the stall warning... (think of it as god calling you to tell you that you may die soon)... lucky
