and so it begins...
the last phase of my flying is starting. and that means lots of sleepless nights preparing. i haven't even started flying and the preparation is already stretching me to my limits. the lack of sleep is making me lethargic and the long working hours is wearing me out.
the most ridiculous thing is that all this stuff involved maths. not just plus or minus. but all the cos sin tan shit...
but well over the past few days flew 4 sorties. quite fun cause the past few sorties for me has been solo flights. so going out to the aircraft on my own. chatting with the ground crew before my trait begins. its a really good feeling. then starting up alone and flying knowing that if you screw it up. its only your fault to blame. or if you fly as a good wingman... you know that you did good. its really quite fun i guess.
took a flying test yesterday and boy was it hard. supposed to land and the weather was really really bad. raining with low cloud base. about 400 feet off the ground. my minimum height to descend was 350ft. so when i made a first pass to simulate an aborted approach... i actually aborted my approach cause i couldn't see the ground!!! and whats even more scary is that the guys in the tower couldn't even see me. they were like confirming with the approach (radar) guys whether my aircraft was indeed near the base. lol... so funny. coming in for an actual one to land. was even more scary... cause i knew i couldn't see the runway at 400ft. i was really really careful off this one. then suddenly a hazy row of yellow appeared through the rain... could it be? should it be? it MUST be!!! its the airfield lights... striaght away "bite" the lights and start adjusting my approach to make it. then the rain started blurring my runway... woah!!! so exciting... turn on the wiper ah! so funny its like the world's shortest wiper. the blade is like 30cm long only. and it doesn't go like from horizontal left to vertical right. it just goes left right left right left right left right left right... but i respect this wiper ok. its rated up to 400km/h. probably one of the world's sturdiest wipers.
landed knowing that phew... i nearly had to divert to another airfield. heng ah...
another 2 more days and i'll have spent a whole year here already... T_T...
darling hang in there ok? i know work is also hard for you right now cause of some stupid people coming to hit balls. its like a modified version of fetch! instead of you throwing the ball for your dog. you do it to yourself! hang in there. we'll catch up when we can. =)
