gong xi fa cai to all!

and so ends the long weekend for me. we basically got ready for the new year in the squadron and especially so for the new year dinner which will invovle french guests too.

i was given 2 posts. ie i was in charge of the reception for the evening and on top of that to ensure that the lucky draw counter works out smoothly. so yah i was more of a supervisory role. imagine i had to take care of 400 guests! woah stress man... then the funny thing was the coordinator didn't have a lucky draw box. i was like "WHAT!?!?!" shit... "yes sir i'll make a lucky draw box" haha.... so from a simple cardboard box covered with red paper and words of fu dao and an art drawing which i carved out. (will get a photo of it when i can if its not destroyed by tomrrow)

then after the reception was over it was time for dinner. or so i thought... sit down eat the yu sheng and a bit of the cold dish then gotta follow the cai shern yuan. god of fortune around and sell more lucky draw tickets!! bleahx... follow him for about 30mins serving the 400 guests and with people taking photos with him like as if he was wearing a hello kitty suit. they were all over him!!!

god of fortune's walk finishes. thought i could eat. then found out that dang gotta do the lucky draw first round. ok no problem... after that was done. gotta count the lucky draw collections and then do another lucky draw!!! bleahx... after that was the grand lucky draw!!! ARGH!!! when that was finally done... the dinner trays were kept... T_T.... so no dinner for me... hai... sad...

but one thing i learnt from this event is that i still love being part of the front line service person. i can't do management jobs. i can do supervisory role but i MUST see the action. i can't handle top brass decision making. looks like i'm a thoroughly bred number 2.

another thing i've learnt is that my darling goes through a lot everyday. and that her job is something i really respect and would love to be in. but of course nothing beats travelling at 800km/h for free! haha.... thats my job. =)
