hi allZ...
just came home... and yes thats like 10pm... where have i been? well... i was locked up in the basement 3 threatre for 4hours!!! with gurmit singh!!! and no..... its not for Phua Chu Kang season 2634.... or Gurmit's Small Talk.... but for the SINGAPORE IDOL!!! yesh!!! i was one of the lucky 300 people to come down and watch the Singapore Idol semi-finals round 1!!! (music rolls.........)
yesh after watching today's programme... sadly... there were no laughs about people singing lemon trees, singing with the passion and vigour of an ant, or crying as if the world is going to end (which could be...) this was purely about style, and really top notch quality. the judges were crap manz... they were like animals!!! so cruel to some of them...
anywayz... my cuZ was one of those who made it to the semi-finals. so i got tics to go down and watch. here are some of my comments.
basically there were 10 of them. please read the disclaimer b4 i continue.
DISCLAIMER
The information i am about to tell you if merely my personal opinion.
The information provided here contains spoilers from the episode that will run soon.
Do not take to heart some of the harsh comments that i may make. cause some of them really hit the "right" spot.
Contestant 1: jazz blues....
haha this guy was quite cool with his outfit and the top hat.... but somehow.... he didn't have the umph in his movements nor did he have the coolness in his voice.... but blues isn't wat singapore idol is.... i wonder...
Contestant 2: the fashion defect fellow
this guy ahz... first thing i see him... gay... totally wrong fashion sense.... i mean he was like wearing a cardigan over a thin white t-shirt that didn't seem to show on the camera... so its like he was trying to show off his boobs or something like that... just that he forgot the balloons or some push up bras or something. uck....
Contestant 3: the 16 yr old
saw reflections from the show mulan... yahz... i didn't even know she was like 16years old?!?!?! really well done her song. though it didn't quite take off with the judges. but i tell you manz... she was just so pretty for a 16yr old... i was very deeply impressed with all the guts she has. (whoops nearly typed guy.)
Contestant 4: super cool singer...
this lady was good... really caught the audience attention... but slightly cocky.
Contestant 5: girl going to dinner & dance
this girl i think was from creative... but anyway.... i think she sang quite ok.... just that "whats up with her dress?" it was sooooooooo loose around the northern regions that her icebergs were floating around. would have split the Titanic in 2 by now.
Contestant 6: David... model but not a singer
that indian guy whom we say in the first episode ass the arrogant one? yah he's back... i tell you... he's got one heck of a nice body. really idol quality... u know he's like hercules... great smile, great body, and all the charisma he can have in the world... but... "his singing sucks" big time... can barely hear the words he was saying... thats the important part of being an idol... don't let his looks fool ya... we're looking for an idol not model. ^_^
Contestant 7: Beng no more
this guy i think we all remember.. the ah beng guy who wore pink for the audition episode 1. this guy was good... no major comments... just that he dyed his hair... brown (not pink) so he's still beng.... as much as the female judge is lian.... haha... watch the epi to find out the details.
Contestant 8: unknown
very vague memory of him.... fullstop.
Contestant 9: smooth inspiring singer
my cousin who was nice enough to allow me to watch the impressive show... he sang a song from hercules... "dare to.... er... dream" getting tired... haha... but yeahz... the judges said that his song wasn't inspiring... but i felt that he was really good.... though maybe the song limited his ability to shine... but he's got talent.... i'll give that to him.
Contestant 10: that chubby butch
well... i don't find that this girl can be the singapore idol... at least she won't be mine... she can sing well i'll give that to her... but there's this hint of arrogance i feel.... and that she's too.... confident that it makes her look rather female doggy... no vote from me for her.
but i must say.... gurmit was a fantastic emcee.... doing a great job... u know he'll add some humour like doing impersonations of "Lemon tree" and the "careless whisper" oh gosh.... that was damm funny lahz!!!
anywayz... the others things that i've done in school today include kalai reading this rather interesting poem from a science student. background... basically it was written in red colour and was certainly a love poem.... really romantic poem that moved my blood within my body... so here's the poem...
THE POEM OF LT4
The Red of Blood
is my love to you (drawn heart sign)
so romantic isn't it... it is as if the blood within my skin cries out in joy.... " oh please! please! more more more................................. crap. i shall not comment any further b4 this science student cries reading this entry.
also... somehow i feel that kindness really goes a long way. just like today... i was madly typing out some questions in the library next to a student from the history faculty. someoone i know, but cannot mention since i've got no permission from her and that she is not aware of this blog. anyway.... she was working hard on her essay too... being a mere acquaintance, though i wished that i'd have fewer acquaintances and more friends, i offered her a little sweet no bigger than a 1 cent coin and u know what... it really brightened up her day... (at least i think so)
so the moral of this little episode of bor-seng's life is that... kindness comes in many different forms... just by simply offering a sweet to someone doing work does wonders for the person, cause he/she will know that she is not forgotten. kindness is free... it doesn't take a ton of effort to perform such a deed. just a whole lotta heart. ^_^
on this note... i leave ya with this quote:
"We've seen the sun rise and set everyday, the birth and death of stars, the waves that move in and out. they are all part of a natural cycle, but can we say that love follows this natural cycle as well? or if there is everlasting love... is that being unnatural, being inhuman?" --- Chua BS
